The Cloud
There are many benefits in using the cloud. The cloud makes things more efficient, flexible and faster and allows access to data anytime, anywhere, any place and with any electronic device. Unfortunately, the negative effects of using the cloud override all of the benefits. First and foremost, if someone makes the simple mistake of being carless, they are then leaving all of their information at hand for just about anyone who wants it. What I mean by this is that, whether they have a password or not, whether they put important documents on the cloud or not, these are all factors that may contribute to one’s loss of information. So many people leave passwords for their devices all over the place; in their wallet, on their desk, in their car. Some even use some of the simplest passwords that are easy to memorize by others. Unfortunately, some people don’t even keep passwords on their devices, therefore remaining an open book for anyone who can lay their hands on it. “No matter where most of the blame lies for each security incident, the end result is the same: Someone's most precious digital asset, his or her data, was either lost or laid bare before someone who shouldn't ever see it, much less touch it.” All in all, if one has set a secure password on their device, hopefully it in inaccessible and secure. Hacking only begins when an individual is careless or lazy. Some devices contain a glitch in which the user could make a simple but careless mistake and accidently leave their information on the cloud on display for all to see. Unfortunately, according to these articles, nothing we put on the cloud could be safe. It has the potential of getting lost, being read by others, and seen by anyone who wishes to be a creeper!
